Payroll Analyst - Greater Boston Area

myOrthos is next generation orthodontist platform, providing office management, marketing, recruiting, billing & collections and IT support to our partner practices. We're committed to taking care of our patients and our team members and we work alongside our clinical leaders to make decisions that support growth at the practice level, while nurturing what makes each practice unique.

 

We currently support 7 offices across 3 states with the goal of expanding from 6 orthodontists to 100 plus over the next 5 years. We have over 8,000 patients currently in treatment and 80+ team members across the organization. 

Job Overview:

The Payroll Analyst will primarily be responsible all day-to-day payroll activities for all US and international payrolls. This individual will report to the Controller and will be responsible for the input of all employee payroll and benefits. As a member of the Payroll team, this individual would partner with our Finance and Human Resource groups, effecting change and completing special projects aligned with company-wide goals and objectives.

What You Will Do:
  • Work with the Controller to coordinate, audit, produce and approve biweekly payroll for Multi-state US and international payroll, including off-cycle payments or supplemental (bonus and year ending) payrolls, as needed

  • Maintain data integrity of payroll applications on a daily basis

  • Reconcile and compute pay for new hires, pay/hour changes,

  • Reconciliation of quarterly 941s and the reconciliation and distribution of annual W-2 reporting

  • Communicate and escalate issues and risks in a timely manner

  • Establish and maintain process documentation for new procedures

  • Assist with the expatriate payroll and related problem solving issues as they arise

  • Responsible for ad hoc payroll reporting including proficiency in creating reports

  • Work with payroll

 
Do You Have the Right Experience?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 3 years Payroll experience, preferably using Ceridian

  • Thorough knowledge of US payroll tax laws for a multi-state employer

  • Attention to detail

  • Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Excel

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Collaborate with external teams to ensure proper transaction data flows and availability of reporting needed to support transactions posted to the general ledger

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure data integrity

  • Act as the central point of contact for all assigned business unit activities

  • Perform various month-end tasks including preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, supporting schedules, intercompany transactions and consolidations

  • Assist in providing audit support for revenue transactions

  • Drive change in the organization through participation in special projects and ad hoc analyses

  • Understand various service/product offerings to ensure proper accounting treatment

  • Effectively using accounting knowledge to collaborate with varying levels of employees and management to drive sound business decisions

 
Requirements:
  • 3+ years experience, financial services experience highly desired

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or finance

  • Knowledge of general accounting principles

  • Experience with intercompany transactions and consolidations

  • Attention to detail and goal oriented

  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality

myOrthos, is seeking a Business Data Analyst to build and develop a data platform. Reporting to the VP of Technology, you will join our growing team and support all department data requirements including Finance, Marketing, Operations and Human Resources. This position offers flexible working arrangements.

 

You will be responsible for understanding the overall data and information landscape, how the business leverages information assets today and how we can develop data solutions to generate new insights to better engage all business stakeholders.

 

myOrthos is looking for Data Business Analysts who can:

 

• Act as a ‘Data Product Manager’ – going beyond simple requirements elicitation and defining solutions that anticipate future needs, leveraging Digital and Data knowledge of where the industry is going.

• Perform traditional functions expected of a Business Analyst. (Examples, gather and compile data, data validation tests)

• Work with the application development partners to help translate requirements into technical specifications, assist in user acceptance testing, work with end-users, provide training.

• Define the user experience- ensure data solutions are easy to navigate and consume.

• Drive a rich user experience

• Assist in the development of system architecture and API usage

• Expedite data sharing across all departments

• Create user-friendly reports, dashboards.

• Develop strong business acumen and utilize analytic prowess to generate insights.

• Utilize raw and curated data tables, create logical source-to-target mappings, and illustrate processes, data, and information flow.

• Candidate will also be part of the broader IT support function, supporting head office staff

• Apply best practices from IT Project Management methodologies- Agile, Waterfall, or hybrids.

• The ideal candidate must also demonstrate strong investigative, problem-solving, and analytical skills, and be able to clearly communicate ideas.
